Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Kapolei on the island of Oahu is beachside resort hotel located at the Ko Olina Resort. Affiliated with The Disney Vacation Club, Aulani was made as an alternative to those who do not live near Disneyland or Walt Disney World theme parks but want to take part in all that they have to offer. This "stand-alone" hotel is one of three similar hotels owned by this popular company which are primarily designed for guests traveling without children under 18 years old so adults can enjoy themselves too!

History of Aulani
Disney revealed its newest resort in 2010, and after nearly a decade of work it turned out to be worth the wait. At an estimated cost of $800 million dollars Disney finally unveiled their plans for this sprawling new property that they had dubbed Aulani Resort & Spa.
The resort began timeshare sales on July 15, 2010, and began taking room reservations in August 2010. On August 12, 2011, Disney suspended Aulani timeshare sales indefinitely and fired three executives, including Disney Vacation Club president Jim Lewis, after senior management realized the annual dues had been set too low to cover maintenance costs.
